New Term starts 2nd September - New Members Welcome

The North East Scotland Classical Guitar Society (NESCGS) is entering its 15th successful year and we are pleased to advise that we have vacancies for new members. We are based at Queen's Cross Church in Aberdeen's West End, where we meet about 30 times a year during school term time. Our Autumn term starts in September so now is the time to come on board.
The society provides a lively forum in which all aspects of the classical guitar are explored. This includes:
• guitar orchestra and ensemble playing,
• an opportunity to play solo if desired,
• promoting of annual concerts and workshops given by international artists
• hosting of our own society concerts
• visits by luthiers and guitar vendors,
Some of these events provide opportunities to learn complementary skills like ensemble playing and sight reading, which the 'bedroom' player seldom gets to experience.
An important quality of our meetings is our informality; there is never pressure to participate if not desired. We take out music seriously but that is about it.
If you are finding your enjoyment of the classical guitar is in a rut and you need to broaden or rejuvenate your interest, then come and give us a try. Our only stipulation is that your guitar is nylon strung. We even have a nylon strung guitar that we can lend you (prior notice is required).
